All Our Todays: A Must-See Exhibition at MARe Bucharest
A personal visit to the MARe Museum. Explore “All Our Todays” — a show that mixes history, identity, and today’s boldest voices.

First Impressions
I visited the MARe – Museum of Recent Art on July 17.
Thanks to Adriana, the press officer, I was welcomed by curator Ioana Iuna Șerban.
She guided me through the current exhibition All Our Todays.
The museum is located in a quiet, green neighborhood. Its black walls and heavy doors are striking.
As I entered, I heard the sound of galloping horses. At first, I thought it was a mistake.
However, I soon realized it was intentional. As a result, I was already part of the exhibition.
Exploring the Exhibition
All Our Todays was curated by Flavia Frigeri and Ioana Iuna Șerban.
It features more than 50 artists. Their works range from abstract forms to figurative images.
In addition, the themes touch on politics, identity, and daily life.
According to Ioana, many Romanians still carry memories of the communist period.
Therefore, contemporary art can feel unfamiliar to them.
Even so, visitors are showing more interest every year.
As a result, MARe is becoming a vital space for new ideas.
Highlights for Greek Visitors
For me, the highlights were works by Jannis Kounellis and Giorgio de Chirico.
Kounellis used bold and dramatic forms. Meanwhile, de Chirico created calm piazzas filled with mystery.
For Greek visitors, these works feel both familiar and inspiring.
In fact, seeing them in a Romanian museum was like meeting old friends in a new city.
Insta Sexy, But Not Superficial
“The museum is insta sexy,” Ioana said with a smile. She was right.
Every corner is perfect for photos. However, the content is deep and meaningful.
As a result, the visit feels both modern and thoughtful.
The staff is young, friendly, and helpful. In addition, visitors can enjoy:
- A stylish café with coffee and light snacks
- A design shop with original souvenirs
- A calm, cool atmosphere — perfect on hot summer days
