In the seperate – showroom- exhibition space of the Blender Gallery, “The Great Golden Room” by Konstantinos Papamichalopulos is hosted. This series if work has a strong connection to his latest exhibition titled Biomorphics, in which he particpated with Artemis Lydi, as White Island Works. This series work investigates the relationship between occidental and oriental art, the distinction between ‘high’ and ‘low’ as well as the appropriation of non-art by art. Recurrent themes include: Japanese motifs, the concept of the boundary, pop culture references and the impact of media on artistic practice and sensory perception. He is an interdisciplinary artist specialized in drawing, painting, 2D + printmaking, video, comics, photography, animation. The artist will participate in a group exhibition in the “Herakleidon Museum” towards the end of June, with selected pieces from the “Great Golden Room”. This will be followed by his solo exhibition “Talos – Represantations of the mechanical human” will be presented in August, at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens
