SPREAD the Love!
These projects were the way I faced my parents’ health adventure in October 2018. Coincidentally they both went to the hospital at the same time. In different hospitals each. And I was going … And I was designing on paper and napkins, heart shaped. And later I would draw them on my cellphone notes. And when the health of both of them stabilized, I went through the implementation.
So simple. So true. Hearts. Love. Solidarity. Μ.Α.Ζ.Ι. (meaning TOGETHER in Greek). Alexandra Gogousi
In the context of the events for a good cause, this time for the “Μ.Α.Ζ.Ι. – We Live Equally in Solidarity”, of Thessaloniki, Alexandra Gogousi presents her solo show at a.antonopoulou.art,
on Saturday February 8th, 12:00 – 16:00 pm.
Stella Tsiarvoula, Cultural Manager / PhD Candidate of Cultural Policy, AUTH writes: Lawyer & President of “Μ.Α.Ζ.Ι. – We Live Equally in Solidarity”, Dr Alexandra Gogousi consciously chose to stand with the well-known optimism that characterizes her in a particular and extremely difficult and complex time of her family life. Wanting, against the conditions, to give space to the positive emotions that overwhelmed her, she chose the heart as a symbol of expression and creation. Designed and manufactured dozens of iron hearts using various other materials such as crystals, chains, wires, vinyls, beads, and more. Some hearts are moving, pulsating or oscillating, some are inserting into one another. Its sculptures are of varying dimensions: from miniature to large floor structures.
Her hearts sometimes are just spreading the message of love everywhere, sometimes are the bearers of messages. Most of her works raise awareness and concern about issues that concern modern societies: freedom, child abuse, time management, war, education, entertainment, and more. Her message is clear to all hearts: SPREAD THE LOVE!
Part of the profits will go towards the needs of the nonprofit MAZI, whose success includes, among others, the supply and installation of a state-of-the-art digital angiography at the Thessaloniki University Hospital with 1.500.000€ funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
