Aikaterini Kanakaki just for one day, Sunday April 14, 2019 from 12.00 – 17.00 is going to exhibit her work from her studies in U.C.A – KENT – U.K. Her interest surrounds the anatomy of the human body and it’s behaviour after death. The everlasting WHY of all humanity has always been and will be a source of creation, in every form of art.
The artist says for her work:
“I have always had an interest in the study of Human Anatomy, as well as the concept of life, death and the theories of what occurs to a person after they die or what many refer to as the afterlife. My initial thought logically took me to certain religious beliefs of reincarnation.
According to the ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras and many religious faiths, (most notably that of the Indian “Bhagavad Gita” scripture) the soul that wafts after the physical death, except for the human form, is able to be embodied in an animal or a plant. Within my work I have tried to represent my interpretation of the physical and visual form reincarnation may take.”
