Human  Trees

Amalia Stavroulaki

KROMA Human Trees Amalia Stavroulaki

Trees are almost always the dominant figure in the work of Amalia Stavroulaki.

Lonely, in doubles or in groups. Trees she observes and isolates from the rest of the environment in her everyday life or her numerous travels. Trees she dreams, she imagines.

Trees she dries out of her on-site tours on the internet. From Greece, her favorite Cyclades, Crete and all over the world – especially from Africa. That’s where her heart beats. She focuses on them – and the environment gets “subtracted”.

Trees become the landscape. Upright, stand-alone. Beautifully made. Bleached leave to leave. With texture and depth. With character and personality. So different, clear, yet complicated.

Amalia Stavroulaki sees the trees without losing the forest.

She sees life.
Twenty-five projects.
With pencil and woodpot.
With color – for the first time. On wood.
